Charles A. Hayles A Man Out of Time
Charles A. Hayles (1873-1975), a man of many talents, is the object of this biography written by Donald Bordeau former President of the Society and an acquaintance of this subject.
Mr. Hayles was an electrician, but extended his interests and knowledge into numerous areas including photography, as illustrated by the variety of photographs throughout the Quarterly.
He was also interested in wireless radio communication with others around the country; owned a store in downtown Rutland that sold phonographs and stoves; and could be seen driving his wife Hally, in their 1913 automobile.
An interesting account of a man ahead of his time.
